Office Duck is the upcoming first project by KABOOM Studios, a small team of Purdue students. It is a 2.5D, side-scrolling narrative mystery game centered around a duck working at an office. I am the art lead for the project, and am in charge of designing all of the characters and environments. Here are some samples of the work I have done for this project. All models, textures, drawings, and animations pictured were made by me, unless stated otherwise.
Environments
Break Room by grrodger on Sketchfab
The break room echoes Nestla's anti-employee culture, containing a run-down seating area with little light and plentiful sources of caffeine. Since the vending machine is the source of one of the game's puzzles, I did not design a few of the snack and drink sprites inside it; credit for the Quacka-Cola, Peepsi, and Duck 'n Crunch sprites goes to Michael Maslowski, a KABOOM Studios puzzle developer.
Elon's Office by grrodger on Sketchfab
The CEO's office is the final boss room of Office Duck, and for dramatic effect it departs slightly from the style of the rest of the game to a more high-poly and painted look. The room, which players can enter at earlier points in the game, is meant to send the message that not everything is as it seems.
Office Lobby by grrodger on Sketchfab
The lobby is the first thing players see while playing Office Duck, so it was important to fill this introductory area with foreshadowing and intrigue. The transition from the elevator to the lobby was especially important - I wanted to emphasize the liveliness, and strangeness, of the office in comparison to the rest of the world.
