This project was based on a Remington Model 1100, and was intended to showcase my aptitude for prop modeling for games, as well as technical skills such as hard-surface modeling and high- to low-poly baking. Scroll down to see the full model and my process!
My first order of business was to make a quick blockout of the 1100. I found some basic dimensions online and gathered reference images of the gun.
Next, I started adding detail to the gun. Since it is intended to be used as a hero item in a game, I allowed for plenty of topology in the low poly model; however, with all the details in the reference a texture bake was necessary, so after completing the low poly version I made a high poly with even more detail.
